The Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA) is an initiative run by UNICEF UK, which encourages schools to place the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) at the heart of its ethos and curriculum. A Rights Respecting School not only teaches about children's rights, it also models rights and respect in all its relationships, whether between children or between children and adults . We are very excited to build on the good practice which already exists within our school and have been awarded our bronze level award. Each class has a Charter for their classroom. The Charter lays out the rights of the child within the classroom setting.  We have had elections for our new School Council and this Rights Respecting School Steering Committee and they will help to promote Children’s Rights throughout the school.
