P3/4 have been learning all about length, and the unit of measurement the metre. Today they had a go at estimating and then measuring different places in school. They measured the width of the classroom, the length of one of our benches and even went out into the corridor and measured the school doors. Then they took their metre sticks and chalk into the corridor to draw lines of different lengths in metres. To finish off they were challenged to problem solve, be creative and use their new skills of estimating and measuring in metres to create fish exactly 1 metre long.
